Prequently asked questions

(JAN 2023 - TBD) Why do your product boxes keep changing?

You may have noticed that our product boxes have been changing — a lot. We've been reusing old product packing this quarter to continue production while we await supply chain issues to clear up for our normal boxes. Rest assured, the contents of the box are exactly the same. It's just the outside that's a little less pretty than usual.

Why don't you display odds (or "seeds") on your packaging?

Listing odds skates a very fine line between selling an entertainment product, and gambling. Instead of the feast or famine mentality many "Mystery Box" companies use when approaching these types of products by only including the "desired" product in some boxes, we aim to put out the fairest boxes on the market by guaranteeing what you will receive in every box instead.

How can you sell your products so affordably when they have graded cards in them?

We have negotiated rates with some smaller, but reputable grading companies, such as Wayne Alan Grading (https://www.waynealan.com). We also buyout massive collections containing PSA, CGC, BGS cards and break them down to put into our boxes.

Are your packs weighed (or weighable)?

No and no. The vast majority of the time we buy factory-sealed products directly from distributors/wholesalers and insert them directly into our products. It is also not possible to "weigh" the majority of modern Pokemon booster packs (there are exceptions to this, namely in special sets such as Celebrations).

How do I become a retailer of Darklight products or buy wholesale?

If you own a brick-and-mortar game and/or card store, feel free to reach out to us via the contact form. Please note that we are not accepting any more online-only retailers at this time.

What kind of graded cards go into your boxes?

All of our boxes containing graded cards pull from the same place, simply meaning that for example, Midnight Boxes and Daybreak Boxes pull from the same pool. We are in a constant state of receiving grading returns and shipping out boxes so we never really know what's going into the next box, but in general we grade a lot of Vintage, Specialty Set cards (such as celebrations), Ultra Rare Full Arts, Trainer Gallery cards, and Mondern-Vintage "hit" cards. We grade cards that we as collectors ourselves would hold on to for the future.
